Since so few players actually come to play RPS , may I suggest that for every 2 games you play, you gain a ladder point. That way the people who come and play the most will actually be getting somewhere. Its all very well having a new game like this but its always the same people turning up and the people at the top of the tree never seem to be there. If they were penalised for not turning up very often because others were jumping ahead by playing frequently , even if their opponents are not ladder players, it might start to bring more people to the game.

Great idea but I think it makes it difficult to have different rules for different games. However, I have been trying 3pm tournaments for Europeans players as that would be an early evening game for them as many UK player splay this game and play it well. Hope you pass the word and try to make some of them as we can get this going either now or in the fall. Your input is appreciated.
Also leave a general time frame when you cna most frequently play in this forum and try to be there for a little while to see if others will do the same. There are players playing ladder in here but everyone checks in and leaves when no one is around. So let's start something and then it will build. I will host when I can and where there is interest. Check the 3pm and 7pm starting times slated for next week. Any reply will be noted. TY

Ladder is now much more active with all the top ladder players playing frequently. Challenge one of them and make them know yr interested. Some of these players can be found in gin, pool canasta and BG. soon they might stay in RPS if more come. But, they can be found.
Also note the regular three tournies per week every week as we build. Hope u can make some of them. 3pm for euro players and 9:30pm for NA players. Take your pick. See you soon.

blade, haven't seen you since your post all those months ago. Many RPS tournaments have been on and it has been fun. How aobut returning and bring your friends. The more the merrier. TD joker has tournaments every monday and thursday at 3pm.

According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
