For novices: How to play Backgammon with a friend

1.Both you and your friend need to create your own usernames - either at our main website GameColony.com or after installing our Backgammon apps for iOS or Android devices
2. Both you and your friend need to know each other’s user names (NOT passwords!) and arrange the time that you will both be in a Backgammon game room ready to play.
3. Once you both are in the game room, one of you will create a private game table with an ‘invitation-only’ option.
Use Menu -> Create Table.
In the Create table screen, select a non-default 'Invite-only' option.
After creating a table, select Invite button and you'll be able to invite your friend who is within the game room at the time by using your friend’s username
4. Your friend will be able to see and accept your Invitation upon selection of 'Invites' next to the Menu on top

According to the statutes of most states in the United States, gambling is defined as: "risking something of value upon the outcome of a contest of chance". (Also see No Gambling!). The skill (as opposed to chance) is predominant in games of skill. Playing games of skill for $prizes, therefore, has nothing to do with gambling as it is not a contest of chance -- the more skillful player will win far more often. The chance element of a 'gamble' is either insignificant or missing. When players compete in tournaments or games of skill for $prizes -- it is "competitive entertainment" rather then "gambling". The more skilled winner will always win more matches, tournaments and $prizes.
