When you are connected to GameColony (or any other internet site), there are many intermediate networks that your connection passes through. Each of these intermediate networks may have an occasional problem. If one of the connection points in-between fails for a while, your overall connection to GameColony servers will be lost. If this happens, you will have to re-establish your connection and try to reconnect to your game. The table that will appear below in a few seconds, will show your connection link points from GameColony.com server to your computer. Line #1 represents GameColony.com server. The last line represents your computer or in some cases a computer at your Internet Service Provider (ISP). The lines between GameColony.com server and your computer are the intermediate link points (routers) -- special computers that are transmitting data traffic between different parts of the Internet. The last column shows the time in milliseconds -- the delays between each of the connection points (routers). The lower this number, the better. The red box in one of these lines means that transmission failed on that router. This happens when this router is overloaded or is experiencing problems at this moment. If you are experiencing any lag, this router is most likely to be blamed for it. Sometimes by looking at the router name you may guess what part of the world it is located in. Delays of over 250 ms (1/4 of a second) are also marked with red color. |
